Reuben
('Ben') Craythorne was a professional
footballer! He played for Notts County in the years
around 1911. Born in
Birmingham in 1882, he returned home after the footballing to set
up business as a Coal Merchant. His father was
another Reuben, and his grandparents were Frederick
Crathorne and Matilda Wilkes. There's more about his
ancestors

here, thanks to Steve Crathorn!
