Crathornes in Kent

Of the 19 IGI Crathorne records for Kent, there seem to be two early families.

• Joan Crowthorne was born about 1524 in Tenterden, and went on to marry Roger Austen on 2 May 1548.

• Harry Craythorne, born about 1540 of Canturbury, married Jane on 18 November 1567, but it appears she died almost immediately on 5 December 1567.

A hundred years later, Thomas Crathorne at Bromley christened his three daughters Anne (21 March 1674), Susanna (6 February 1676) and Phoebe (30 March 1678).  And a separate Anne Craythorne was apparently born 'of Allhallows' in 1641.

The only other records are in the 1700s,  with John Craythorne marrying Mary Edmunds on 15 September 1744 at Maidstone (or Aylesford), and both Jonah and Mary Crathorne being christened in Maidstone on 26 April 1749.
